A hosting account will allow you to build your own WordPress website with alot of flexibility that you need as a marketer. The learning curve for WordPress is real, but there are many tutorials available. This site was built with WordPress and is hosted by BlueHost. Pricing starts at $2.95 per month (paid annually). However, I suggest selecting the next service tier so you can build unlimited websites.
Never pay more for a big list. This 20 year old tool suite provider offers an autoresponder with unlimited subscribers for just $17.00 per month. This basic level membership also includes ad tracking, a basic page builder, and a subdomain blog. The company has 3 additional tiers of marketing tools. Simply upgrade as your business grows. You can try every available tool for 15 days for only $1.00. The affiliate program is very lucrative at the higher tiers.
Another marketing tool suite. The starter membership is $10.00 per month (cheaper annually). An autoresponder is provided in this membership level, but is very limited. My main use for this membership is the creation and hosting of (almost) unlimited banners and up to 4 splash pages. You will have a slight learning curve to navigate the back office, because there are so many options available.
Everything in life can be a trade off. You gain something with one program, but don’t get everything you need. While saving money is important to start up costs, you need to consider long term consequences to you actions.
For example, if you build a list with one provider, you cannot move it to another due to legislation, such as the Can Spam Act of 2003. Do you want to start over 5 years from now, or do you want to make the best decision now based on your long term vision for what you want to accomplish?
Consider the perception of your ideal customer. Do you want to send them to an internet property with a subdomain or a company watermark clearly visible?
Do you want an affiliate website? Focus on getting a hosting account and learn WordPress. The autoresponder can be obtained later. Want to sell? You need a website and a payment processor.
Start with your needs for your core focus, then consider what you need as you expand in different directions.
